How heptathlete, ‘Crystal Palace’, became…The Astonishing CPIFF!!
Crystal Mathers, AKA Crystal Palace, to her friends is dedicated to becoming an Olympic heptathlete. Following a team session at the National Sports centre, she is training alone on the Crystal Palace Sphinx steps when she notices an eerie glow around the head of the left hand sphinx.
Deep inside rests a strange ‘substance’ we shall call ‘the intangible’ neither matter nor energy but existing across all dimensions in a constant flux between fusion and stability. Split apart and hurtled across the multiverse at the big bang it ‘longs’ to re-coalesce with all intangible. Something is calling it…
Nearby, the Crystal Palace antenna visible for miles around, is receiving the faintest of signals from The James Webb Space Telescope which happens to be directly above – a mere 1 million miles away!
The JWST is pointed directly at the beginning of our universe. The intangible has traveled 46 billion light years to reach it and instantly senses more of itself near the antenna… a dish on the antenna vibrates.
Crystal is too curious, she touches the sphinx’s glowing head to find it is unusually soft. Perplexed, she pushes her arm deeper inside….
CRAAAACK! Her other arm is flung towards the antenna and she is suspended, spreadeagled in mid air as the intangible uses her as a conduit to coalesce.
Crystal’s mind and body are in an inter-dimensional fusion flux, at one with every particle and wave of energy in the multiverse, her consciousness expanded across all space and time in countless dimensions.
Realising the absolute insignificance of her current form she decides to merge her whole being with ‘everywhere’ dispersing into omnipotence. But then the JWST shifts position severing the intangibles’ connection. Crystal drops hard onto the steps unconscious.
The next morning she awakens… changed. It will take time to learn and master her new and vast powers until she fully becomes the Crystal Palace Inter-dimensional Fusion Flux or…
